在第一堂课时，我为这位学员进行了音域评估, 很快他的声音就吸引了我的注意。随着音域一步步往上，我逐渐感受到他的声音稳定而有支撑，整体表现出良好的控制力与潜力。
这些年的教学过程中，我发现一个很有趣的现象：一个人的歌声，往往和他从小听什么音乐有着密切的关系。小时候，我们都会不自觉地跟着喜欢的歌手唱歌、模仿他们的声音。长年累积下来，身体会逐渐习惯某一种发声方式，也会发展出较自然的声音习惯与共鸣。不过，这不会改变一个人的声音本质，而是在原有基础上发展出属于自己的风格。
歌唱老师的工作，不只是解决问题，更是帮助学生认识自己的声音，找到最适合的发展方向。每一种声音都有自己的特色，也都有最适合的表达方式。好的歌唱教学，不是要求模仿，而是帮助学生把自己的声音发挥到最好。
这位学员拥有较长的真声区，声音扎实、厚实，有落地感与力量感。因此，他非常适合发展经典摇滚（Classic Rock）、英式摇滚（Britpop）以及流行摇滚（Pop Rock）这类需要爆发力与情绪张力的演唱风格。
当然，再好的声音条件，也需要持续累积。
让我印象特别深刻的是，这位学员几乎每一次上完课，隔天就会把下一堂课准备演唱的歌曲提前传给我。这个小小的习惯，让我看见了他对学习的认真，也让我相信，他并不是只在上课时练习，而是真正愿意把练习带回生活。
真正的成长，从来都不是一星期上一堂课，而是在课后的每一天，持续累积。
声音条件决定了适合发展的方向，而持续练习，则决定了最终能够走多远。
期待未来继续陪伴他，把这份属于他的声音特色，慢慢发展成真正属于自己的个人风格。因为真正能够打动人的，从来不是完美的声音，而是真实的声音。
Educational Reflection | Every Voice Has Its Own Nature
During this student’s very first lesson, I carried out a Vocal Range Test, and his voice immediately caught my attention. As we gradually moved higher through his range, I noticed how stable and well-supported his voice remained. It demonstrated excellent control and strong potential for development.
Over the years, I have observed something fascinating: the way we sing is often closely connected to the music we grew up listening to.
As children, we naturally imitate the singers we admire. Over time, our bodies become familiar with certain vocal habits and resonance patterns. However, this does not change our natural voice. Instead, it shapes how we express it and gradually develops our own unique singing style.
The role of a vocal teacher is not simply to fix singing problems. It is to help students understand their own voice and discover the direction that suits them best.
Every voice has its own unique characteristics and its own strengths. Great vocal teaching is not about encouraging students to imitate someone else, but about helping them bring out the very best in their own voice.
This student has an unusually extended chest voice, with a rich, grounded tone and impressive vocal power. These qualities make him particularly well suited to Classic Rock, Britpop, and Pop Rock—styles that demand both emotional intensity and vocal strength.
Of course, natural ability alone is never enough. Growth always requires consistent practice.
One thing that impressed me most was his attitude toward learning. Almost every week after class, he would send me the song he planned to work on for the following lesson.
That small habit told me a great deal about his commitment. He wasn’t only practising during lessons—he had made singing part of his daily life.
Real growth doesn’t come from attending one lesson a week. It comes from the commitment to keep practising, day after day.
Natural vocal qualities help determine the direction a singer is best suited for, but consistent practice ultimately determines how far that singer can go.
I look forward to continuing this journey with him, helping him develop his unique voice into a style that is truly his own.
Because the voices that truly move people are never the most perfect ones—they are the most genuine.
