很多人眼中，录制一支 Rockschool Grade 1 Vocal 考试影片，或许只是一个简单的过程。
但对于特殊孩子来说，每完成一个步骤，都需要付出比一般孩子更多的努力。
今天，我为学生 Ee Hin 录制了 Rockschool Grade 1 Vocal 考试影片。
Ee Hin 是一位 ADHD Level 2 的孩子。他已经能够阅读歌词，也能跟着音乐唱歌，但对于语言内容和指令的理解仍有一定困难。
Rockschool 考试除了演唱之外，还需要考生面对镜头进行英文自我介绍、介绍每一首歌曲，并按照考试规范，向镜头展示 Photo ID 约 10 秒。这些对于一般孩子来说或许只是几分钟就能完成的流程，但对于 ADHD 孩子而言，每一个环节都需要不断提醒、引导与练习。
ADHD 孩子常伴随着感觉统合协调上的挑战，他们拥有不错的音乐感和节奏感，却可能无法让身体动作与声音自然协调。很多时候，我们看到的不是他们不会，而是大脑需要更多时间去处理、组织，再把指令转换成行动。
这次录影过程中，Ee Hin 的妈妈给予了非常大的协助。作为老师，我很感谢家长一路以来的坚持与陪伴。
平时，她也常和我分享育儿过程中的担忧，而我总会告诉她一句话：
「不要过早为孩子的未来焦虑，而是陪着他，一步一步把今天做好。」
因为特殊孩子的发展速度不同，但并不代表他们没有潜力。
或许他们走得比较慢，但只要持续前进，每一次完成别人觉得理所当然的小事，对他们来说，都是一次值得庆祝的成长。
身为老师，我希望自己教的不只是唱歌，更希望能够陪伴孩子建立自信，让他们相信：
「我也可以做到。」
Educational Reflection | Every Step Forward Deserves to Be Celebrated
To many people, recording a Rockschool Grade 1 Vocal examination video may seem like a simple task.
But for children with special needs, every step requires far more effort than most people realise.
Today, I recorded the Rockschool Grade 1 Vocal examination video for my student, Ee Hin.
Ee Hin is a child diagnosed with ADHD Level 2. He is able to read song lyrics and sing along with the music, but he still experiences challenges in understanding language and following verbal instructions.
The Rockschool examination involves more than just singing. Candidates are required to introduce themselves in English, introduce each song they perform, and, in accordance with the examination requirements, present a photo ID to the camera for approximately ten seconds. While these tasks may take only a few minutes for most children, they require repeated guidance, reminders, and practice for a child with ADHD.
Children with ADHD often experience challenges with sensory integration and motor coordination. Many of them possess a strong sense of rhythm and musicality, yet coordinating their physical movements with their voices does not always come naturally. What we often observe is not a lack of ability, but rather that their brains simply need more time to process information, organise it, and translate instructions into action.
Throughout today’s recording session, Ee Hin’s mother provided tremendous support. As his teacher, I am deeply grateful for her unwavering commitment and companionship throughout his learning journey.
She often shares with me the worries that come with raising a child with ADHD. Whenever we talk, I always remind her of one simple thought:
“Don’t worry about your child’s future too early. Instead, walk alongside them and focus on making today a meaningful step forward.”
Every child develops at a different pace, especially children with special needs. A slower pace of development does not mean a lack of potential.
They may take longer to reach each milestone, but as long as they continue moving forward, every achievement—no matter how ordinary it may seem to others—is a meaningful victory worth celebrating.
As a teacher, my goal is not only to teach singing. More importantly, I hope to help every child build confidence and believe in themselves.
To help them say, with conviction:
“I can do it too.”
